Bringing May Flowers...

There are so many beautiful tulips at my house, and I've loved seeing all the blooms.

Last night I was cleaning out some of the stuff I got at GSA Denver last October, and I found my collection of state geological map postcards. So I decided to see how many I was missing by laying them out on the floor. I've been collecting them at 3 GSA's now and I have a lot. Heather got home when I was just about half way through the U.S. and I think she thought that I had gone crazy. I'm still missing Hawaii, South Dakota, New York, Maine, Georgia South Carolina and Mississippi.

Ladies Night!!!

Saturday night (April 12, 2008) was the Association for Women Geoscientists's 19th Annual Scholarship Benefit Auction and Wine Tasting at The Mill at Tracy Aviary.

This year I donated a ceramic box that I made. I was so nervous to see if people were going to like my art. I've never sold any of my pottery and I didn't know how much it would sell for. The opening bid was $15 and at the end of the Auction it went for $60. They said it was one of the top selling items of the night. I was so excited!!!

It was good to see everyone from the U's Geology Department again.
Ally and I catching up and talking about what we were going to buy.

It was a lot of fun, I can't wait for next year.

The Easter Bunny Came....

So Heather and I decided to have a Easter brunch.

This is the spread. Heather did the decorating and I did the cooking....yep, she's the Martha Stewart to my Betty Crocker.

I was exhausted. Baking at 7 am was pretty rough on a night owl.

This is my dad and mom.

Sister-in-law Jess talking with my mom about spring projects for their husbands.

My dad and Adam talking politics after brunch.

It when really well and everyone had a good time, and Heather and I didn't even burn anything.

Happy Easter!!!

I love my job!

Today I spent the day showing geologists from all over the world the amazing geology of Salt Lake.

It was so much fun to get out after all the work that we've been doing drafting maps and putting together presentations for the big meetings this week.

For some of the geologists it was the first time they had seen snow in real life.

It really is great to meet so many interesting people.

Yep, it was a good day to be a geologist...
